This reminds me of the time I was at my brother’s house and my niece was about 7 or 8 years old and she came into the kitchen and asked him if he’d cut up an apple for her and he just replied, “You can cut up an apple yourself.” And then I watched her grab a sharp knife and sit in the middle of the kitchen floor fumbling with this apple and I just thought to myself, “Man if my brother ain’t our mother.” And realized the type of parent I would make, as well.
